Sumaira Abidi is the Vice President–Investor Connect at SBI Mutual Fund, where she leads communication and investor engagement for India’s largest fund house. Before moving to the mutual fund industry, Sumaira spent over a decade at CNBC–TV18, carving out a distinctive niche in personal finance journalism. She became widely recognized for simplifying investing through her long-running show MF Corner, which empowered retail investors by breaking down complex concepts into practical, actionable insights.
Across her career as a journalist, Sumaira reported extensively on markets and mutual funds, delivering several influential stories that strengthened transparency and awareness in the industry. In 2020, she was named among AIWMI’s Top 100 Women in Finance for her contribution to investor education.
Prior to CNBC–TV18, she worked with TV Today, Times Now, and NewsX. Sumaira holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia.
