Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty is a Delhi-based senior journalist and writer. She is a recipient of several prestigious awards and fellowships including the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism, Parag Kumar Das Journalism Award, and the Centre for Study of Developing Societies’ Inclusive Media Fellowship.
Though she writes on national sociopolitical and cultural issues, her interest lies in the region she is native to: India’s Northeast. She is the author of the critically acclaimed Assam: The Accord, The Discord.
