David Davidar is the author of three novels, The House of Blue Mangoes (2002), which was published in sixteen countries and was a New York Times Notable Book; The Solitude of Emperors (2007), which was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize; and Ithaca (2011).
In addition, he has edited A Clutch of Indian Masterpieces (2014), an anthology of the best Indian short fiction ever published, which won the Publishing Next award for Book of the Year in 2015, and A Case of Indian Marvels (2022), an anthology of outstanding Indian stories from the twenty-first century.
